Benefits of Starting a New Franchise

by Ricky Dixon

Are you contemplating starting a new business? There are some things that you’re definitely going to need to think about before heading down that road. Let’s talk about a few very important options you’ll need to consider.

The most difficult part of any new business is getting it started. You’ll have a lot of administrative stuff to figure out, and you’ll need to start getting clients right away. You’ve undoubtedly heard that 80% or so of new businesses fail in the first 2 years or so. This number will fluctuate depending on the industry and where you get your numbers from, but in the end it’s been shown the most new businesses fail.

There are several reasons for these failures. One is that companies run out of capital. Another big one is that they don’t get enough exposure and just die off. In other words sometimes it’s a marketing problem. But either way, the fact is that a good number of new businesses fail for one reason or another.

So if the statistics are so bad for starting a new business, is there anything you can do to improve your chances of surviving? Yes there is.

One great option is to start a franchise rather than a new business from scratch. The benefit of starting a franchise is that you get the backing of an already established system. If it is a large franchise you will also get the national advertising that comes with it.

When you start a franchise you also get immediate brand recognition. If you start a business from scratch no one knows you who you and over time you have to build up that recognition. This is a much harder thing to do!

You don’t have to just open a franchise in the food industry. You can also open them in just about any other industry you can think of. There are franchises in electronics, batteries, ink cartridges, clothing, and tons of other industries.

Give this some thought as you are considering what to do for your new business. You can either try to start something completely new or you can start with a proven and effective system. The franchise will cost more to get started, but you have a much better chance of making it in the long run.
